Watch what you say... Proverbs 21:23

Proverbs 21:23

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from trouble.

God's Word tells us about the tongue and what it is to be used for.  He tells us it is to be used to build up and not to tear down.  The tongue is to be used to speak life everlasting, healing and unconditional love.

The tongue is used to speak Truth and to sing praises to God.

How often do people let that tongue get them tripped up?

The brain, heart and tongue get all out of synch and before long people are hurting each other with any kind of language that God would surely frown upon.

The devil is quick to use any unsuspecting tongue that he gets access to.  And he gets that access through brokenness and anger.  That's why He tells us to not let the sun go down on anger.

You give the devil an inch and he will surely seek to take your life!

Speak without thinking, with an angry heart, and the devil will surely say all kinds of mean things to drive chaos and destruction.

God tells us that the tongue is like a double edge sword.

Proverbs 12:18
There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, But the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Isaiah 49:2 ESV

He made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me a polished arrow; in his quiver he hid me

Proverbs 15:28  ESV

The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.

My prayer for today is that we continually seek the Lord before we speak.  May we always seek for our words to be His words through us. May we share His goodness and His love and may we offer forgiveness for those who have harmed us with hatred and an uncontrolled tongue.

And may we remember to wear our full armor of God written in Ephesians 6:10-17.

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers forces of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places.

When we pray, let us pray like this:  Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from the evil one. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, Amen

Proverbs 21:23

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from trouble.

Thank you, Jesus, for your unconditional love and healing.

Love and blessings to ALL in Christ Jesus, Amen
