John 3:7-8
You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound,
but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So, it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

I love the song by Bob Dylan....The Answer is Blowing in the Wind.

We read in Scripture "...the wind blows where it pleases."

Have you ever ever gone outside on a day that just seems perfect?  The temperature is ambient and the gentleness of the breeze is felt on your cheek.  It's like being touched by an invisible hand, a loving stroke across your face.  In the stillness of the moment you think you hear a message from God.  "Peace, be still," the wind whispers.

Dylan asks, "How many years can a mountain exist before its washed to the sea?"

God says, "I created the mountains and placed trees on them and as I speak, My voice is heard through the tallest of cedars.  I speak and the thunder rolls. I speak and the water flows, trickling through a mountain stream."

Dylan asks, "How many years must some people exist before they're allowed to be free?"

God says, "Like all of my Creation, the butterflies and birds and animals of all kinds and fish of the sea are all created to be free." God says, "Look and listen!  The answer is blowing in the wind.  I am in the wind.  I am the wind...whispering, you were born to be free!"

Dylan asks, "How many times does a man turn his head and pretend that he just doesn't see?"

God says, "Look and you will find me! I am all knowing and all seeing. I never will turn my head or my heart from you." God says, "I have placed my Spirit within you. Listen, my child and hear My voice in the wind.  I am calling your name!"

Dylan asks, "How many times til a man looks up and sees the sky?"

God says, "Look to the sky. Look up here.  I have created beautiful pictures in the sunrise and the sunset each new day. Look up and you will find me."

Dylan asks, "How many ears must one man have before he can hear people cry?"

God says, "Though man's hearts have grown cold and turned away and cannot hear his neighbors cry...I always hear you my child. I hear your every cry."

Dylan asks, "How many deaths does it take for one man to know that too many people have died?"

God says, "Come into My presence and know that one death apart from my Spirit indwelling in him, is too many."

He says, "I am the Spirit that lives in the mountains, the treetops and in the hearts of man.  I am the Great I am. I am the loud thunder in a storm and I am the gentle breeze. I am Creation. I am Father. I am Holy. I am the Wind that blows wherever it pleases."

John 3:7-8  You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So, it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

My prayer for today is that we seek the face of our Lord as we look up to the mountaintops high in the sky, as the trees are alive with song, as the voice of our Father speaks to our hearts to come near and experience Himself intimately, to be born of the Spirit.

Love and blessings to all in Christ Jesus. Amen
