It is... our task to love! Romans 12:9-13
Patricia Ann
Romans 12:9-13 tells us:
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
As I was reading through an old book of poetry and verse, I discovered this poem written over 100 years ago by
Maude Louise Ray.
My Task
To Love someone more dearly every day,
To help a wandering child to find his way,
To ponder o'er a noble thought and pray,
And smile when evening falls~~
This is my task.
To follow truth as blind men seek for light,
To be my best from dawn of day 'til night,
To keep my heart fit for His Holy sight,
And answer when He calls~~
This is my task.
And then my Savior by and by to meet,
When faith hath made her task on earth complete,
And lay my homage at the Master's feet,
Within the jasper walls~~
This crowns my task.
It is my prayer that each day we also see it as our task to love more dearly, help others along the way, follow truth, and answer when our Lord calls. May we keep our hearts fit for His Holy sight and live in His Holy presence.
It is... our task to love!
Love and Blessings to all in Jesus' precious name. Amen
