Do you know? The Lord is close to the brokenhearted... Psalm 34:18 Patricia Ann
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
– Psalm 34:18
As God is continuously calling all mankind's hearts unto Himself, let us look at the actions of the heart of man in this world and see how God calls us unto Himself through a broken and contrite spirit and into His presence for eternity. Sometimes, it just has to happen this way...
The Heart
Inside the mortal body beats a heart.
It is the life-giving force that pumps the blood throughout a physical body.
The heart sustains life.
Everyone has a heart in their body.
God speaks of the heart in a spiritual form.
The heart is the center of our being.
The heart is our sustaining life force in Him.
As we see the spiritual condition of the heart operating in our world today...
We see warm loving hearts which seek to do good.
These hearts are filled with love.
Love overflows from this heart, as the inheritance of Jesus' shed blood.
We see lukewarm hearts, which sometimes seek to do good, but they falter in their full capacity
to know or allow God’s love to fulfill and inspire.
These lukewarm hearts are continually seeking something more.
These hearts seek the world for fulfillment .
These hearts have not experienced the essence of God.
Then there are cold hearts.
These hearts are selfish, self-fulfilling hearts, which do not know the heart of God.
They believe that they themselves are good.
Many are even deceived to believe that they, too, are a God.
These hearts do not need or desire the fulfillment of the love of God.
And these cold hearts go about treading on the kinder, gentler hearts of God's very own.
These cold hearts are, in fact, spiteful and resentful to those gentler ones.
These hearts (often wounded themselves) seem to find great pleasure in hurting others and
creating wounds that trouble the soul.
Now, we come to the broken heart.
Whether broken by another person, or by other worldly circumstances...
The broken heart bleeds and the broken heart pleads.
The broken heart pleads with those that persecute love.
The broken heart pleads with those that do not feel.
The broken heart pleads with those who hate.
As the broken heart pleads with the one who is breaking it.
It says... look at me.
It says... you cut me with that remark.
It says... please stop.
The broken heart feels pain.
The broken heart feels the pain of others.
The broken heart seeks to be heard and for the violence to stop.
The broken heart seeks to be repaired, as it cries out in pain.
Sometimes the broken heart keeps on breaking, until one day the broken heart bleeds out.
And the broken heart cries out to the only one who can help.
The broken heart cries out to Jesus and finds Him, there in the midst of the pain.
And it stops! The pain all stops!
There are those who will say that
if you know God you can't have a broken heart.
But isn’t it true...
that it is because of God, that you have a broken heart?
As God is continuously calling all mankind's hearts unto Himself, we can see how in our own broken self, God calls us unto Himself. It is through this broken and contrite spirit that we enter into His presence for eternity. Sometimes, it just has to happen this way...
My prayer... we will all suffer one way or the other in this world, whether it is by something done to us or by something we have done, I pray that we all will get to a day when we find Jesus is the answer. Jesus, our personal Savior, born and died and lives again so that we also will live. The heart of Jesus was broken for all of mankind... for you and for me. There is no greater love that Jesus love! When we truly find Jesus as our Savior, there is no more lukewarm heart, no more cold heart and no more broken heart. We come alive in Christ! We find a joyful heart has taken the place of the broken heart. We begin walking in that same love and kindness which is as Jesus, Himself! The heart restored to perfection in God, the Son and the Holy Spirit is the heart of God! Praise God from whom all blessings come.
Love to all in Jesus name. Amen.
Scripture tells us about the broken heart. It tells us about the lukewarm heart and it tells us about the heart set on fire for God.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
