Gods promise in Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
And God's word says in Isaiah 46...
Bel bows down, Nebo stoops low; their idols are borne by beasts of burden.
The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary.
They stoop and bow down together; unable to rescue the burden, they themselves go off into captivity.
Oh, how often we feel burdened! Oh, how often we feel the weight of the beasts of burden.
Do we even think about the fact that the Bible tells us of stories of the promises that God gave His people, His remnant?
Do we even stop for a moment to open our Bibles and read God's promises to us? Do we even take time to sit and be still with the One who has loved us from our beginning, our conception, our first breath and every day of our life?
In Isaiah 46:3 God tells us to "listen to Him". He tells us that "He has upheld us since our birth and has carried us since we were born."
In other scripture God tells Jeremiah "...Before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
Psalm 139:16 says, “Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, the days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day.”
Think about it! We live in such a time when the Bible, God's inspired Word, is seldom thought of anymore. Times are hard for people and getting harder every day.
But, God, in His great love for us, has given us His word. God gave us His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross and by that action, to take away our burdens and our sins. Jesus took the torments that He Himself had experienced and all that we were to experience, as well. God has always known what our lives would be like and He sent Jesus to our rescue.
Still, we find ourselves seeking to bear the weight of many burdens. We find ourselves sick and in despair, sad or
broken-hearted, rejected and lonely. Did you ever take time to think that none of these things are a surprise to our Father in Heaven?
In fact, He said it would be his way. In seeking to carry a beastly load of burdens all by ourselves, we find ourselves weary. We are bowed down in burdens and in the certain captivity that it creates in our hearts.
Still, God's promises remain the same for us.
Whether yesterday, today or tomorrow, God knows. God has always known!
God continues to call our hearts back unto Himself! It is God who made us.
He sustains us, carries us and rescues us even unto our old age and gray hairs.
The love of God is everlasting from the beginning to the end. He loves us perfectly, and unconditionally welcomes us back into His loving embrace, when we come to Him as His little children. He never leaves nor forsakes us.
Gods promise in Isaiah 46:4
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
Isaiah 46
Bel bows down, Nebo stoops low; their idols are borne by beasts of burden.
The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary.
They stoop and bow down together; unable to rescue the burden, they themselves go off into captivity.
“Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob, all the remnant of the people of Israel, you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born.
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
God does give us a warning about idols...
“With whom will you compare me or count me equal? To whom will you liken me that we may be compared?
Some pour out gold from their bags and weigh out silver on the scales; they hire a goldsmith to make it into a god, and they bow down and worship it.
They lift it to their shoulders and carry it; they set it up in its place, and there it stands. From that spot it cannot move. Even though someone cries out to it, it cannot answer; it cannot save them from their troubles.
“Remember this, keep it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels.
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’
From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.
Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted, you who are now far from my righteousness.
I am bringing my righteousness near, it is not far away; and my salvation will not be delayed.
I will grant salvation to Zion, my splendor to Israel.
My prayer for today is that we find love, hope and trust in our Father in Heaven.
May we come to the complete understanding of His great love that He has known us from the beginning, since before we were formed. He has and does carry us through all the days of our lives, even to our old age and gray hairs. It is He who will sustain and rescue us.
May we come to Him through accepting Jesus Christ, as our Savior, the One who bore the ultimate pain and suffering unto death for all of beastly burdens born of our idols. Jesus bore the sorrows and the weariness that come with living in captivity.
May we all experience that freedom has come with Jesus. He is...who was and is and is to come...Jesus has come to set the stubborn-hearted, captive ones free unto salvation.
And we know...God's purpose will stand and He will do all that He pleases.
May we please Him with our praise. May we honor Him in song. May we live long and never, ever lose hope for a better tomorrow is surely promised to each of us.
Love and Blessings to all.
